The Academy
Is an innovative approach to chronic disease prevention in Mecklenburg County. It aims to advance health equity by building the skills, leadership, and capacity of faith-based and community organizations to promote health and wellness education.
The Components
Workshops, evidence-based and certification programs focused on cardiovascular disease prevention.
Topics include healthy eating, physical activity, tobacco-free living, chronic disease management, and mental wellness.
The Vision
To ensure that everyone in Mecklenburg County has equitable access to health and wellness education through partnerships and community engagement.
